MSC Enhances Southern Africa Network with New Services and Hub

MSC has announced significant upgrades to its Southern Africa network to strengthen trade links between Africa, Europe, and global markets. As part of its commitment to providing end-to-end logistics solutions, MSC is updating its NWC to South Africa service and launching two new shuttle services to improve regional connectivity.

Key Enhancements:

NWC to South Africa Service

Now includes a direct call to Walvis Bay, Namibia, extending direct connections between Northern Europe and Namibia.

Revised rotation: London Gateway – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Bremerhaven – Le Havre – Sines – Las Palmas – Walvis Bay – Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) – Durban – Cape Town – Las Palmas – London Gateway.

Namibia Express

A new shuttle service linking Cape Town (South Africa) and Walvis Bay (Namibia).

Enables efficient cargo movement from Europe to Namibia via transshipment in Cape Town.

First sailing: MSC Himanshi III voyage OA502A from Cape Town on 08 January 2025.

Mozambique Shuttle

Connects Walvis Bay (Namibia), Maputo, Beira (Mozambique), Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), and Mombasa (Kenya).

Walvis Bay serves as a transshipment hub for European cargo destined for Maputo and Beira.
